Edible Smart Expiry Tags – Ending Food Waste at Homes

Problem:

In every household, food often goes to waste because expiry dates on packaging are vague. “Best before” doesn’t mean spoiled, but most people throw items out early to be safe. On the other side, some accidentally eat expired food because labels are small, confusing, or faded. This creates two problems: huge food wastage and health risks.

Gap in Current Solutions:

•Printed expiry dates are static → they don’t reflect actual storage conditions.

•Smart fridges exist, but they are too expensive and not widely adopted.

•No low-cost, everyday solution that works for everyone.

Proposed Solution:

My idea is Edible Smart Expiry Tags:

•Small, non-toxic, edible tags/stickers placed on food packaging.

•The tag changes color naturally (green → yellow → red) depending on real freshness, not just printed dates.

•The tag can be dissolved in water (safe, biodegradable) when discarded, leaving no waste.

Who Benefits:

Families/Students: Avoid throwing away safe food, save money, eat healthier.

Retailers: Reduce wastage in grocery stores and improve stock rotation.

Environment: Less food waste → less methane release from landfills.

Why It Matters to Me:

At home, I’ve seen perfectly good food thrown away just because of unclear expiry dates, while sometimes spoiled items went unnoticed until too late. A simple color-based solution would make food safety obvious and help everyone waste less.

Optional Tech Details:

•Tags made from safe biopolymers + natural pH-sensitive compounds (like anthocyanins from red cabbage).

•Low-cost, scalable, eco-friendly.

•Works on packaged goods, dairy, meat, and even fresh produce.

Euexia - Your healthcare made simple

One problem I’ve seen again and again is how messy it is to keep track of health records. If you’ve ever had to shuffle through old files, look for a lost prescription, or try to remember the date of your last doctor’s visit, you know how stressful it can be. When it comes to health, every small detail matters — the date a medicine expires, the timing of a follow-up appointment, or even a vaccination record that might be needed years later. Yet, all this information is often scattered across paper slips, SMS reminders, and hospital portals. Many hospitals and clinics offer their own patient portals, but these systems usually operate in isolation, without any interconnection or data sharing. As a result, patients are left juggling multiple platforms, each containing only a fragment of their medical history

My idea is an app that brings all of this together in one safe and simple place. It would store your medical history and documents, upcoming appointments, prescriptions (with alerts when they’re about to expire), and even lab results. Instead of relying on memory or a pile of papers, you’d upload the documents to an app and see everything clearly laid out. It could even send gentle reminders for doctor visits or when it’s time to refill medication. Existing solutions are too fragmented — hospitals keep their own portals, pharmacies might send reminders only for medicines bought there, and most health apps focus on fitness rather than actual medical care. What’s missing is a tool that truly centers the patient, making their health information accessible and organized.

Who benefits from this?

  • Students – Young adults who are just beginning to live independently often struggle to keep track of healthcare information. Between busy schedules and limited experience, they may forget appointments, misplace prescriptions, or fail to track medication dates. The app would help them stay organized and take responsibility for their own health.

  • Elders – Older people frequently deal with multiple prescriptions, regular check-ups, and long-term health conditions. Managing all of this on paper can be overwhelming. The app would simplify their routine by sending reminders, keeping records in one place, and reducing the risk of missed doses or lost reports.

  • Parents – Families often juggle the healthcare needs of multiple members, from children’s vaccination schedules to grandparents’ prescriptions. The app would act as a central hub where parents can manage appointments, prescriptions, and records for everyone, making family healthcare far less stressful.

  • Healthcare facilities – Doctors, clinics, and hospitals benefit too. With access to a patient’s consolidated history, diagnoses become more accurate, time is saved during consultations, and risks of duplicate tests or overlooked conditions are reduced.

I believe this could make a huge difference in patients lives and the health care system. Patients would feel more in control, doctors would get a clearer picture, and families would feel less stressed. Sometimes, good health is not just about treatment, but about staying organized — and that’s what this app would help achieve.

For many gym enthusiasts, one of the biggest struggles is maintaining proper protein intake. While commercial protein powders and bars are available, they are often very expensive, sometimes adulterated, and not personalized to an individual’s needs. Beginners in particular either consume too little protein, slowing down progress, or overconsume without understanding their body’s requirements. This creates both a health risk and a financial burden.

My idea is to launch an Affordable Customized Protein Subscription Service designed for students, young professionals, and fitness beginners. The service would assess each user’s fitness goal (bulking, cutting, or maintaining), body weight, and dietary preference (vegetarian, vegan, or non-veg) to prepare a tailored monthly protein plan. Instead of relying only on costly powders, the packs would combine natural, budget-friendly sources such as roasted chickpeas, protein laddoos, oats mixes, peanut butter sachets, and affordable whey blends.

A companion mobile app could help users track their daily protein intake, suggest meal ideas using the provided products, and send reminders to stay consistent. This model would not only make protein nutrition more accessible but also support local suppliers and small food businesses.

MealMatch

1. My idea: MealMatch

Problem it Solves: Students often struggle with meal planning and eating healthy on a budget. Many end up skipping meals, relying on fast food, or wasting groceries because they can’t finish everything they buy.

Current Market Gap: Food delivery apps focus on convenience but are expensive for daily use. Grocery delivery platforms don’t solve the problem of food waste or planning. What’s missing is a student-friendly platform that balances affordability, nutrition, and convenience.

My Solution: A Smart Meal-Sharing and Planning App for students:

  • Community Cook-ups: Students nearby can share home-cooked meals or batch-cook together.

  • Leftover Exchange: Post extra portions so others can claim instead of wasting food.

  • Meal Planner + Budgeting Tool: Suggests weekly affordable, healthy meal plans based on local grocery prices.

  • Nutrition Focus: AI-suggested meals that meet calorie/protein needs for active students.

Who Benefits:

  • Students → affordable, healthier meals, less wastage.

  • Parents → assurance their kids eat properly.

  • Campus Community → stronger bonding over shared meals, reduced food waste.

Business Model:

  • Pilot: Free app with basic features.

  • Scale-up: Small service fee/commission on shared meals.

  • Premium: Meal-prep subscriptions, curated diet plans, discounts with local grocery shops.

Why This Matters to Me: I’ve seen so many students and also myself either waste money on food delivery or struggle with cooking alone. This creates a way to eat healthier, better, cheaper, and together.

Smart School Water Bottle Tracker

One of the common but overlooked problems in schools is student hydration. Many children either forget to drink enough water during the day or end up wasting water by leaving bottles half full and refilling them unnecessarily. Dehydration can affect focus, memory, and energy levels, while water wastage is a global issue that often goes unnoticed in schools.

Currently, the solutions available are very limited. Teachers sometimes remind students to drink water, but they cannot track each child’s intake. Parents also assume their child is drinking enough during school hours, but there is no reliable way to monitor it. Fitness bottles with trackers exist in the market, but they are expensive, designed for adults, and not suitable for large-scale use in schools.

My idea is to create a Smart Water Bottle for Students that can monitor both hydration and water wastage. The bottle would contain a simple weight or volume sensor that measures how much water has been consumed and how much is left. This data can sync with a school app or dashboard that shows teachers whether the class is staying hydrated. Parents could also receive reminders if their child is not drinking enough water regularly. On a broader scale, the system can highlight how much water is wasted daily, encouraging schools to run awareness programs on sustainability.

Who benefits:

  • Students: better hydration, health, and concentration in class.

  • Parents: reassurance that their child’s health is being tracked.

  • Teachers: improved student performance and energy levels.

  • Environment: reduction in unnecessary water waste.

This problem matters to me because hydration is often ignored compared to food or exercise, even though it directly impacts health and learning. A simple, affordable smart bottle can build better habits in children while also teaching responsibility toward water conservation.

The Companion : An AI Companion for the Elderly

Problem Statement

Elderly individuals, particularly those facing memory-related issues like Alzheimer's and dementia, navigate a world not built for their needs. Daily life is fraught with challenges: from misplacing essential items like keys or glasses to forgetting to take life-critical medications on time. In a health crisis, such as a sudden blood pressure spike or a fall, the delay in calling for help can have dire consequences.

Current technology, while advanced, often falls short. Mainstream voice assistants require precise commands and a degree of technical savvy that many seniors lack. They are not designed to understand the nuances of an individual’s daily routine, provide memory support, or integrate with personal medical devices. For a population that is increasingly digitally isolated, the need for a simple, empathetic, and reliable companion is more urgent than ever.

Gaps in Current Solutions

Existing products and services, while well-intentioned, fail to offer a holistic solution.

  • Generic Voice Assistants (Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant): These tools require precise commands and are not always fluent in regional Indian languages. They are primarily cloud-based, raising significant privacy concerns for sensitive personal and health data. They cannot track physical objects or provide personalized memory support.

  • Medical Reminder Apps: These require a smartphone, which many seniors find difficult to use. They lack the conversational, voice-based interface that is crucial for a user with cognitive impairments.

  • GPS Tracking Devices: While useful for location, these devices offer no companionship, health monitoring, or memory assistance. They address only a small part of a much larger problem.

  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems: These are designed for medical professionals, not for patients. They are complex and impossible for an elderly person to navigate independently.

There is a clear and critical gap for a single, comprehensive solution that combines a conversational interfacememory assistancehealth monitoring, and object tracking in a way that is simple, secure, and genuinely empathetic to the needs of the elderly.

Proposed Solution - The Companion : A Personal Guardian for Wellness

The Companion is a personal, screenless, and AI-powered wearable device designed to be a health guardian and memory companion for the elderly. Worn discreetly on a person's clothing, it provides a voice-first experience that proactively assists users throughout their day.

Key Features

  • Continuous Vitals Monitoring: The Companion pairs with Bluetooth-enabled vitals monitors to passively track crucial health metrics like blood pressure and blood glucose. The AI learns the user's typical health patterns and is programmed to detect any significant discrepancies. If a reading is outside the normal range, it will proactively send an alert to the user and their designated family members.

  • Conversational Assistant: The device is built with advanced speech technology to understand and speak in a wide range of regional languages from across India. Users can simply talk to the device to ask questions or get assistance, making it accessible even for those with limited technological literacy.

  • Personalized Memory Aid: For individuals with memory loss, it acts as a patient and tireless companion. It can answer questions about daily routines, remind them of scheduled tasks, and help manage their medical records. A simple voice command can get a concise summary of their last doctor's visit or a reminder of which medicine to take.

  • Immediate Emergency Response: In a health crisis, it acts as an instant lifeline. If a paired vitals monitor detects a dangerous reading or if an integrated sensor detects a fall, the device will automatically and instantly contact pre-selected family members or caregivers via its cellular connection, providing them with the user's location and the nature of the emergency.

Technical Architecture and Privacy

The Companion is a self-contained device powered by a compact, low-power processing unit. It houses a microphone array and a speaker for clear, two-way communication.

Hardware Components

The core of the device is an ARM-based System on a Chip (SoC), chosen for its efficiency and low power consumption. This SoC runs a custom, lightweight operating system. For connectivity, this includes a Bluetooth module to pair with health monitors and a cellular modem for sending emergency alerts independently of a home Wi-Fi network. It also integrates an accelerometer and gyroscope for precise fall detection.

Software & AI Stack

The device's software is built on sophisticated Speech-to-Text (STT)Text-to-Speech (TTS), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) engines. These are optimized to run efficiently on the local hardware, allowing them to understand and respond to voice commands in various regional languages without constant cloud reliance. The core logic for data processing and AI modeling resides on the local server, with the pin acting as the primary interface.

Privacy & Data Architecture

A key principle of The Companion is privacy. All personal and sensitive data—including health vitals, daily routines, and medical records ,is processed and stored exclusively on a local server installed in the user’s home or neighborhood. This on-premises data model ensures that sensitive information never leaves the private network, placing the highest priority on user privacy and security. The pin only uses a cloud connection to send emergency alerts to caregivers and to receive necessary software updates. The data flow is designed so that the pin transmits raw, encrypted data to the local server, which performs all the heavy lifting of analysis and data management.

Personal Motivation

This project is deeply personal. I have witnessed first and the struggles of my elderly family members with memory issues, and the constant worry their families endure. Current consumer technology, with its focus on entertainment and productivity, has left a significant portion of the population behind. They deserve a solution that is built specifically for their needs—one that speaks their language, understands their challenges, and provides a sense of security and companionship.

The Companion is more than just a piece of technology; it is a means to restore dignity and independence to the elderly, while reducing the immense burden on their families. For those with Alzheimer’s, it will act as a patient and reliable digital memory companion.

Problem Statement:

In India, emergency vehicles like ambulances frequently lose critical minutes at traffic signals. Sirens are often ineffective due to high noise pollution, dense traffic, and low commuter discipline. This delay puts patients’ lives at serious risk. Current solutions are limited, and there is no widely adopted, automated way to create a green corridor for ambulances in urban areas.

Proposed Solution:

SmartCorridor is a transmitter–receiver–based system that automatically creates a green corridor for ambulances.

Transmitter: Installed in ambulances.

Receiver: Integrated with Vehicle Actuated Control (VAC) traffic signals.

Function: When the ambulance approaches, the transmitter sends a secure signal to the receiver, automatically switching traffic lights to green along its route.

Integration: Can be linked to city traffic control centers for coordination across multiple intersections.

This ensures that ambulances move seamlessly through traffic without delay, reducing mortality risk.

Differentiation / Why It Works

Uses existing VAC-enabled traffic signals → cost-effective and scalable.

Inspired by global systems, but customized for Indian conditions.

Proven feasibility: A similar prototype was tested successfully on Trivandrum’s NH66.

Can be secured with encrypted transmitter IDs to prevent misuse.

Impact

Lives saved through faster emergency response times.

Scalable nationwide across Indian cities.

Alignment with SDGs (Good Health & Well-being, Sustainable Cities & Communities).

Next Steps (MVP)

Pilot project with 5 ambulances and 10 traffic signals in one city.

Measure reduction in average emergency response time.

Partner with city traffic departments for policy and scaling.

EpiAware

My idea is an app called EpiAware, designed to make daily life safer and more manageable for people with allergies. The app has three main tools, first, it works as a food scanner that not only reads standard nutrition labels but also warns users about hidden dangers such as cross-contamination from shared production machinery, which can cause serious reactions even when allergens are not listed on the label. Second, it links to a smart EpiPen case that reminds users to carry their device and notifies them when the medication is nearing expiration, ensuring that emergency treatment is always available in time. Third, it features a symptom tracker that allows individuals to manually log allergic reactions, patterns, and possible triggers, creating an organized health record that can be easily shared with doctors to support better diagnoses and treatment plans.

There are apps that do tell people about allergen information however they don’t account for cross-contamination which for highly sensitive individuals can trigger severe reactions requiring emergency care. Some apps can scan food products, others provide reminders, and some allow health note-taking, but no single tool combines all of these critical functions. This gap in the market leaves individuals and families to juggle multiple resources while managing a condition that already causes daily stress. An integrated app would simplify this process and provide more reliable protection.

This idea matters to me personally. As a child, I had allergies and remember how difficult it was for my family to manage. We struggled to identify safe foods, often worried about whether my medication was on hand, and sometimes found it hard to give doctors a clear picture of my symptoms. If an app like this had existed when I was younger, it would have reduced stress, increased safety, and provided reassurance both for me and for my parents. Because of that experience, I strongly believe this solution would make a meaningful difference for other children and families living with allergies, offering them greater confidence, organization, and peace of mind in their daily lives.

Mind mate-your mental health companion

Project Name:

  • MindMate – Your Mental Health Companion

Mental health is one of the biggest challenges students face today, but it’s also the most ignored. I’ve seen many of my friends struggle with stress, anxiety, and even depression, yet most don’t reach out for help. The main reasons? Stigma, high costs of therapy, or just not knowing where to go. The apps and helplines that exist right now often feel too generic and don’t really connect with students on a personal level.

That’s why I thought of MindMate, an AI-based mental health companion made especially for students. The idea is simple: a mobile app where students can chat, track their moods, and practice small mental wellness activities every day. It uses natural language processing to understand how you’re feeling and then suggests personalized coping strategies—like breathing exercises, journaling prompts, or small focus tips. If it notices signs of high stress, it can even connect you (anonymously) to a peer supporter or a professional.

Who benefits? Students who need support but are hesitant to ask for it, universities that want to support student well-being, and society overall because better mental health means better learning and stronger futures.

Why this matters to me: I’ve personally seen classmates who looked perfectly fine on the outside but were going through a lot inside. MindMate could be that safe space which makes it easier to open up and feel supported.

On the technical side, it would have:

  • AI/NLP models for emotion detection from text inputs.
  • Daily mood tracking system with data visualization (graphs showing mood patterns).
  • Gamified tasks like streaks and rewards to keep students engaged.
  • An anonymous chat feature that can connect users to peer supporters or professionals if needed.

Food expiry date tracker - Sous Chef

Have you ever bought a tub of Greek yoghurt and then forgotten about it? A week later, you find it in your fridge, already expired. Not only is this wasting your money, but it is also wasting food. If something like that ever happened to you, then this app is perfect for you.

My idea:

My idea is to develop an app that tracks the expiration dates of groceries purchased by consumers. All the consumer has to do is scan the barcode of the groceries, and the app then adds it to its list. It sends reminders about any food expiring soon and also suggests dishes based on the ingredients available in the list.

Gaps in the current market:

The current market doesn't really combine the barcode scanning of groceries with giving recipe recommendations. Also, this app will focus more on the products and companies found in the Indian market.

Who benefits:

People who are forgetful about their groceries (like me) are gonna benefit a lot from this app. Apart from that, the general public can also use this app, which decreases food waste as people won't wait till their groceries expire. Reducing food waste is going to help everyone achieve a more sustainable world.

Why this problem matters to me:

This problem matters to me because I see tons of food wastage around me daily, whether it be in the campus mess or in the general public. I believe minimum food wastage is going to benefit the people. This app is also going to minimise the financial waste from households, which will help them have a better budget.

Technical details:

  • Built with React Native (iOS + Android).
  • Barcode scanning via ML Kit with a manual entry option for items without a barcode.
  • Colour-coded expiry indicators and notifications.
  • Recipe recommendations based on which product expires first.
  • For produce, it uses estimates of when it expires (eg: an apple 5-7 days).

Problem :

Meal planning is often the overlooked barrier to healthier living. In India, diets are carb-heavy with limited protein, leaving many unable to meet their health or fitness goals. Professional nutritionists are costly, while online plans are generic, jargon-filled, and disconnected from individual lifestyles. Many working professionals/students often neglect caring for their diet as it feels tedious and cumbersome to research and create meal plans that work for them. This creates demand for a personalized, affordable, and adaptable nutrition solutions.

Nutrionist Costs (For Reference) :

India :

  • One-time consultation: ₹500 – ₹2,000Monthly plan: ₹4,500 – ₹10,500
  • 6-month plan: ₹20,500+
  • Specialized diet/medical support: ₹15,000+ per month

Global (US / Europe) :

  • Per consultation: $50 – $200+
  • Ongoing specialized programs: $200+ per month

Key Pain Point :

Costs are too high for the average consumer, making personalized nutrition guidance inaccessible to most households.

Solution :

PlanMyMeal is an adaptive meal planning platform built on machine learning and nutrition science. It creates meal plans based on each user’s body, lifestyle, and food preferences.

How It Works :

Users begin by entering weight, height, gender, age, activity level (hours of exercise per week), and lifestyle habits such as smoking or drinking frequency. The system calculates Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) to set accurate calorie and macronutrient targets.

  • Ingredient-Based Planning: Upload available ingredients, choose meal frequency, cuisine preference (Indian, Mediterranean, Vegan, etc.), health conditions, and allergen info (gluten, dairy, nuts). The engine designs meals around what’s on hand.

  • Goal & Budget Planning: Enter goals (deficit, bulking, maintenance), cuisine type, allergens, and budget to receive a cost-optimized plan plus grocery list.

  • Optional Health Insights: Users can upload blood test results (e.g., vitamin deficiencies, cholesterol levels), enabling condition-aware meal adjustments.

  • Interactive Chat Editing: An NLP-powered chat box lets users refine plans in real time—“Swap chicken for tofu,” “Add one more snack,” “Make it dairy-free.”

Key Features :

  • Plans based on BMR + TDEE calculations

  • Allergen- and health-condition-aware recommendations

  • Integration of lifestyle habits (smoking, alcohol)

  • Cuisine-specific personalization

  • Optional blood-test-based customization

  • Real-time chat adjustments

  • Built-in calorie + macro tracking

  • Budget-friendly grocery lists

Technical Backbone :

PlanMyMeal combines machine learning models, dietary optimization algorithms, and natural language processing. Data pipelines link nutritional and medical datasets with grocery APIs for real-time cost and nutrition accuracy, all deployed on scalable cloud infrastructure.

Consumers :

  • Health-conscious individuals (weight loss, bulking, maintenance)

  • People with medical conditions (diabetes, PCOS, cholesterol, deficiencies)

  • Busy professionals & students (need simple, affordable plans)

  • Users with dietary restrictions/allergies (vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free)

  • Budget-conscious families (healthy eating without overspending)

  • Fitness industry: Gyms, trainers, wellness apps

  • Healthcare providers: Doctors, clinics, dieticians

  • Grocery & food delivery: Cross-sell shopping lists, meal kits

  • Corporate wellness programs: Employee health initiatives

Why this matters :

As a full-time student, I’ve always struggled to balance health with a rigid timetable. Finding food I actually liked that was also nutritious meant spending hours on YouTube and blogs, piecing together recipes that rarely fit my needs. Like many young people, I don’t have the time to constantly track calories, nutrients, and dietary requirements.

At the same time, I’ve seen people my age develop serious deficiencies like Vitamin B12, often ignoring early signs until it escalates to treatments like weekly IV shots. This gap exists not because they don’t care about health, but because nutrition feels complicated, overwhelming, and inaccessible.

As a picky eater who wants to eat clean, I realized there’s a need for a tool that makes healthy eating simple, personalized, and practical—something that adapts to our lifestyles instead of demanding hours of research and planning.

PlanMyMeal: Nutrition that adapts to your body, lifestyle, and goals.

Idea Title: HeaVault – Your Personal Digital Health Vault

Problem:
Managing medical records is still a huge challenge for patients. People who visit hospitals frequently carry bags full of files, test reports, and prescriptions. These often get misplaced, damaged, or forgotten, which prevents doctors from getting a complete view of a patient’s health history. On the other hand, people who rarely go to hospitals usually discard old reports, losing valuable data that could have guided future treatment. This gap leaves patients and doctors without reliable access to past medical information, causing frustration and sometimes even incorrect diagnoses.

Solution:
HeaVault is a mobile application designed to store and organize all medical records digitally in one secure place. Users can upload prescriptions, lab reports, and hospital records directly to the app, making them available anytime and anywhere. Beyond storage, HeaVault integrates features that support overall health and lifestyle management, including:

  • Medicine Reminders to ensure timely intake.

  • Appointment Alerts so patients never miss follow-ups.

  • Diet Guides and Reminders to support recovery and long-term wellness.

  • Water Tracking to encourage healthy daily habits.

Gaps in the Current Market:
While some hospital chains have their own patient portals, they are limited to that specific hospital. There is no universal, user-friendly platform that consolidates records across hospitals and also combines lifestyle tracking. HeaVault fills this gap by being independent, portable, and holistic.

Who Benefits:

  • Patients: Easier health tracking, less stress in managing reports.

  • Doctors: Quick access to a patient’s complete history.

  • Families: Better care coordination for elderly or chronically ill members.

  • Community: Improved medical record culture and healthier habits.

Why It Matters to Me:
I have seen how frustrating it is for families to search through piles of reports during hospital visits. Sometimes, important details are lost just because a paper went missing. With HeaVault, I want to solve this real-world problem and make health tracking simple, reliable, and accessible for everyone.

Staying hydrated is essential, but students, athletes, and travelers often struggle to get water at their preferred temperature when they need it the most. Traditional insulated bottles only maintain temperature, but they do not actively heat or cool water. Existing smart bottles in the market focus mainly on heating, leaving a clear gap for people who also need chilled water on hot days. Carrying separate devices for heating and cooling is impractical and not portable.

The ThermoSmart Bottle addresses this gap by offering a dual-function portable solution. With just a button press, the user can either heat water up to around 60°C (ideal for tea, coffee, or warm drinking water) or cool it down to 10–15°C (refreshing during summers). The bottle is powered by a rechargeable battery with a USB-C port and comes with an optional solar-powered lid, making it eco-friendly. A smart LED display indicates temperature mode (red for heating, blue for cooling), and safety features like auto shut-off and child lock ensure reliable usage.

The benefits of this product extend to multiple groups. Students rushing between classes can enjoy warm or cold water without waiting. Athletes and fitness enthusiasts can rehydrate at the right temperature during training. Office-goers can save time by skipping kettles and coolers, while travelers gain the freedom to carry a compact, all-in-one hydration solution. In short, it adapts to different lifestyles and supports healthy hydration habits in all seasons.

This problem matters to me personally because I often carry a regular bottle to campus, and the water rarely suits the weather—too hot in summer, or too cold in winter. Having a portable bottle that adjusts water temperature instantly would make life easier, healthier, and more convenient. The ThermoSmart Bottle is therefore not just a product but an innovative solution that bridges a clear gap in the market and makes hydration smarter, sustainable, and user-friendly.

By bridging the gap between heating-only bottles and bulky appliances, ThermoSmart aims to become a practical, sustainable, and innovative everyday companion. From a technical perspective, the ThermoSmart Bottle combines a miniature heating coil at the base of the bottle for warming and a thermoelectric Peltier module for cooling. These components are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, supported by stainless-steel double-wall insulation to minimize energy loss. The thermostat regulates heating to prevent overheating, while an external heat sink ensures effective cooling. This design makes the bottle efficient, safe, and portable for everyday use.

Air pollution and rising CO₂ levels are among the most urgent crises facing humanity today. More than 7 million people die annually from polluted air, costing the global economy $8.1 trillion each year in healthcare and productivity losses. Over 90% of the world’s population breathes unsafe air, while indoor air is often 2 to 5 times more polluted due to VOCs and poor ventilation. At the same time, CO₂ levels rise by approximately 2.4 ppm per year, fueling global warming and extreme weather. By 2050, 68% of people will live in cities, dominated by lifeless walls of concrete and glass that currently do nothing to combat pollution. Existing solutions struggle carbon capture plants cost $500 to $600 per ton of CO₂ removed, green walls are 10 to 50x more expensive per m² than paint, and air purifiers work only indoors. Despite billions invested in climate technologies, one obvious opportunity is overlooked the walls around us.

EcoVeil is a revolutionary paint that transforms ordinary walls into air-cleaning, CO₂-absorbing surfaces. Using a blend of photocatalytic compounds like titanium dioxide and carbon-mineralizing additives, EcoVeil actively removes CO₂, breaks down harmful gases such as NOx and VOCs, and purifies the air indoors and outdoors. Unlike green facades or carbon capture machines, EcoVeil is affordable, scalable, and easy to apply it turns every building into a micro air purifier, making cities healthier without requiring new infrastructure. Importantly, EcoVeil also incorporates smart regulation technology to prevent over absorption of CO₂, ensuring balance and avoiding unintended risks such as destabilizing microclimates or interfering with natural plant-based absorption cycles.

Market Gaps:

  • Green walls/gardens: beautiful, but too expensive and limited in scope.
  • Air purifiers: work indoors only, have no effect on city air.
  • Carbon capture plants: centralized, costly, decades away from scale.
  • Eco-friendly paints: low-VOC but passive they don’t clean or protect the atmosphere.
  • EcoVeil fills this gap by combining the accessibility of paint with climate-tech power, making it cheap, scalable, and easy to adopt.

Who Benefits And Business Model:

  • Homeowners & Small Businesses (B2C): Fresher air, healthier homes, eco-conscious lifestyle.
  • Revenue Model: Retail paint cans sold through hardware stores & e-commerce.
  • Real Estate Developers & Builders (B2B): Sustainability certifications, higher property value, lower carbon footprint.
  • Revenue Model: Bulk sales, long-term contracts with construction firms.
  • Governments, Schools, Hospitals, Smart Cities: Meet climate targets, reduce healthcare costs, improve citizen health.
  • Revenue Model: Public-private partnerships, government subsidies, ESG-driven contracts.
  • Communities at large: Cleaner air, cooler cities, healthier lives.
  • Impact Model: Indirect benefit strengthens EcoVeil’s social license and brand power.

EcoVeil earns revenue from B2C retail sales, B2B partnerships, and government sustainability programs, creating a multi-channel income stream while scaling climate impact.

Why this matters?

As citizens, this matters to us because air is the one thing we cannot avoid we breathe it every moment of our lives. Yet 90% of people worldwide are forced to inhale unsafe air, and millions die each year because of something as basic as breathing. We cannot escape it, no matter where we live or who we are. This should concern every one of us, because clean air is not a privilege it is a shared right and a shared responsibility. EcoVeil matters because it gives us, the people, a way to to turn ordinary walls into shields, to protect our families and communities.

Unique Edge:

EcoVeil doesn’t just cover walls it activates them. Where traditional paints only beautify, EcoVeil adds an invisible layer of protection for people and the planet. It is a fusion of design, health, and sustainability, offering a low cost, high impact solution that could scale to millions of square meters worldwide.

“EcoVeil is more than paint it’s invisible armor for the planet. With every brushstroke, we transform dead walls into living climate solutions. Clean air, cooler cities, healthier lives one coat at a time.”

HerCycle : Smart Reproductive Health

The Problem

Millions of women face reproductive health challenges such as PCOS, irregular cycles, and hormonal imbalances. With today’s fast-paced lifestyles, awareness of these conditions is increasing, but many women still don’t know what steps to take next. Additionally, most are unaware of how genetics influence reproductive health, making personalized guidance difficult to access.

Gaps In The Current Market

While there are apps that focus on cycle prediction, and some even use AI, they fall short in several areas:

  • Lack of personalization: Most apps do not account for hereditary factors or daily lifestyle changes, making their predictions and advice less accurate.
  • No actionable guidance: Users rarely receive small, practical steps to help regulate their cycles.
  • Limited use of genetic data: Current apps rely mostly on self-reported lifestyle and bodily changes, but have not yet integrated genetic insights to create truly personalized recommendations.

The Solution

A smart period tracker that goes beyond simple cycle logging. It acts as a daily AI-powered health coach, combining a quick 1-minute daily quiz with ongoing lifestyle tracking to generate tailored micro-goals that help users regulate their cycles, manage symptoms, and adopt healthier habits.

The quizzes allow the AI to predict, schedule, and adjust period dates based on lifestyle changes and logged early or late periods, making cycle tracking more accurate over time.

Gamification elements like badges and streaks keep users engaged. In the near future, genetic data will be integrated to further personalize recommendations. All guidance is verified by healthcare professionals, ensuring safe and actionable insights.

Who Benefits

  • Primary users: Women with mild to moderate reproductive health challenges such as irregular cycles, hormonal imbalances, or early-stage PCOS who want to better understand their body and regulate their cycles naturally.
  • Secondary users: Young women seeking to optimize reproductive health, especially those with hereditary risk factors.
  • Healthcare providers: Doctors, nutritionists, and wellness coaches can leverage insights to provide more personalized guidance.

Note: The app is not intended to replace medical treatment for severe conditions or users who require prescription medication, these users should continue under professional care.

Why This Problem Matters To Me

I personally experienced PCOS in 11th and 12th grade, and it took me a long journey to understand how to reverse it. This experience showed me how challenging it can be for women to navigate reproductive health on their own. I want to educate and empower women to take actionable steps for their health in today’s fast-paced lives. By integrating genetic data, the app can provide insights into hereditary factors, helping users make informed lifestyle and wellness decisions, something I wish I had known earlier.
