One of the biggest challenges is the lack of awareness and clarity on how to correctly segregate and dispose of different types of waste. Contaminated recyclables, mixed garbage, and hazardous waste often end up in landfills or incinerators, causing damage to ecosystems and increasing greenhouse gas emissions. This app directly addresses this problem by empowering individuals with easy-to-understand, location-specific guidance on how to dispose of their waste properly, thereby reducing contamination and improving recycling rates.

I have personally seen how space limitations prevent students from experiencing the full vibrancy of campus life. I’ve watched my friends miss out on workshops, performances, or guest lectures simply because the hall was full or registration closed too early. It’s frustrating for students, discouraging for organizers, and ultimately diminishes the sense of community that college events are meant to create. Space limitations should never restrict inclusivity or engagement. Campus Converge ensures that every student can participate fully, creating memorable, communal, and engaging experiences while maintaining safety and order. It transforms the way college events are organized — making large-scale participation possible, enjoyable, and truly inclusive. 

Technical Details

Campus Converge combines physical event management with simple digital tools to maximize in-person participation across campus. Events are held simultaneously in multiple zones, each equipped with standardized audio-visual setups to ensure a uniform experience. Students follow timed rotation schedules managed via printed or digital passes, allowing smooth movement between zones without overcrowding. QR codes at each zone track attendance, collect feedback, and help manage rewards or certifications, with data stored in a centralized dashboard for organizers. Coordinators move portable props and facilitators between zones to maintain consistent quality, while final gatherings in a central hall or open space allow all students to converge for awards, interaction, or performances. Optional tools like Wi-Fi/Bluetooth counters help monitor crowd density and ensure safety. By integrating physical logistics with low-tech digital tracking, Campus Converge makes large-scale, fully in-person events inclusive, organized, and engaging for every student.

We’ve all seen overflowing garbage bins in busy streets, parks or markets and how it makes the surroundings unhygienic and unpleasant. Municipal authorities often follow fixed collection schedules, so bins spill before anyone empties them. This creates not just messy streets but also health risks, attracting pests and spreading disease. Waste trucks follow static routes,wasting time, fuel, and manpower, while some high-priority areas remain unattended. Cities need a smarter, faster and more efficient solution.

      Introducing - CleanSweep

CleanSweep uses smart technology to modernize urban waste management. Its main features include:

1) IoT-Enabled Smart Bins: Sensors track fill levels, temperature and humidity in real time. Bins can even detect odors to identify unhealthy waste. Solar-powered lids ensure energy efficiency.

2) Real-Time Alerts & Dashboard: Bins automatically send notifications when they’re nearly full. Municipal authorities monitor the status on an interactive dashboard, so they can prioritize collection efficiently.

3) AI-Based Route Optimization: Using AI, garbage trucks take the fastest and most efficient routes, considering traffic and bin status. Predictive analytics forecast which bins may overflow soon, preventing spillage and saving time and fuel.

4) Citizen Engagement App: Residents can report overflowing bins, track pickups and earn eco-points for helping maintain cleanliness. This encourages community participation and helps authorities respond faster.

As someone who often notices overflowing bins in my own city, I know how unpleasant and unsafe unmanaged waste can be. CleanSweep is a way to solve a real problem that affects everyone from residents to municipal authorities, making urban life cleaner and more efficient for all.

The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and the ever-growing dependence on portable electronics have created an urgent demand for accessible and reliable charging infrastructure. In India, EV ownership is expected to rise significantly in the next decade, yet one of the biggest obstacles remains the lack of sufficient and affordable charging stations. On the other hand, students and professionals often struggle to find charging facilities for their smartphones, laptops, and e-bikes in public spaces, campuses, or transit hubs. Existing charging setups are mostly grid-powered, which indirectly contributes to higher carbon emissions when the electricity supplied comes from coal-based sources. This highlights the need for a sustainable, decentralized, and multipurpose solution.

My idea is to design and implement Solar-Powered Smart Charging Stations that can serve as a clean energy alternative for both electric vehicles and small electronic devices. The stations would be equipped with solar rooftop panels to generate renewable energy and battery storage units to ensure continuous operation even at night or during cloudy weather. The system would include:

• Multi-port charging hubs for mobile phones, laptops, and e-bikes.
• EV charging points (normal and fast-charging options).
• Battery banks to store excess energy and balance fluctuations.
• Mobile app integration for digital payments, slot booking, and energy usage tracking.
• Smart monitoring system to measure solar power generation, energy storage, and usage in real time.

What makes this idea unique is its multipurpose nature and sustainability focus. While some solar EV charging stations exist, they are limited to metro cities and are often expensive. Similarly, device charging kiosks are common in airports or malls but are grid-dependent. This project bridges the gap by offering an affordable, solar-powered, and campus-friendly model that works at multiple scales—from university campuses and hostels to urban public spaces, small towns, and rural highways.

The benefits of this system are far-reaching. For students and professionals, it provides reliable and eco-friendly charging for everyday devices. For EV owners, it ensures access to affordable, renewable charging without increasing dependence on the power grid. For communities, it creates a visible symbol of clean energy adoption, encouraging more people to shift toward sustainable practices. Most importantly, for the environment, it reduces greenhouse gas emissions, lowers fossil fuel dependency, and contributes to India’s renewable energy targets.

An added dimension of this project is its potential as an educational and research platform. On campuses, students from civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering can study and improve renewable energy infrastructure directly. Civil engineers can design robust and weather-resistant station structures, while electrical engineers can optimize solar panel efficiency, storage capacity, and load management. This makes the system not just a utility, but also a living laboratory for innovation.

In the long term, widespread adoption of solar-powered charging stations can transform campuses and cities into self-sustaining energy hubs, reduce grid stress, and promote climate resilience. By combining renewable energy, smart technology, and civil infrastructure, this idea takes a step forward toward building greener and smarter communities.

The Problem:
Being a college student, college life makes it tough to eat properly. Between classes, assignments, and projects, it’s easy to skip meals or grab fast food. That often leaves me tired, low on energy, and and sometimes letting food go to waste because I never got around to eating it. Many students and busy professionals face the same struggle.

Current solutions don’t really fix the problem. Food delivery apps focus on convenience, not health. Calorie trackers demand too much effort, and meal planners take too much time. There is no simple, effortless system that actually makes healthy eating easy and quick.

My Idea:
NutriPal is a smart meal-planning and food management app. Its main feature is “fridge-sync”: you snap a picture of your fridge or pantry, and NutriPal’s AI identifies ingredients and suggests quick, healthy recipes. It also adjusts to personal needs—like high-protein meals before workouts or light meals during exam weeks.

How It’s Different:
Unlike standard food delivery apps or calorie trackers, NutriPal combines convenience, health, and personalization. Technically, it would use AI image recognition, nutrition databases of the user, etc to plan the meals. It plans meals automatically, suggests recipes from what you already have with you, and learns the users habits to recommend grocery restocks—all without any of the tedious planning.

Why This Matters to Me:
This idea is personal to me because I often struggle to eat well during hectic college days. NutriPal solves this, by making meal planning stress-free, practical, and more realistic. 

With NutriPal, eating becomes simpler, healthier, and effortless—something every student and busy person can benefit from.

When you're first starting out, managing your finances can be quite daunting. You're in charge one month, and then you dont know where it all went. Cashlet is built for this stage making it easy to log expenses, see where money goes, and set small savings goals. No clutter, no costly subscriptions just a clear, supportive way to build healthy money habits.

Gaps in Current Solutions:
Most finance apps are too complex, geared toward seasoned investors, or lock basics behind paywalls. They assume steady income, strong financial knowledge, and constant internet access. For students or young professionals, that rarely fits. This tracker keeps things simple, affordable, and beginner-friendly focused on clarity, not confusion.

Every time we visit a hospital or a specialist, we leave with a pile of reports, prescriptions, and test results. Over time, these papers get scattered, misplaced, or forgotten. The next time we go to a doctor, we either spend half the time digging through files or worse, repeating the same blood test or X-ray just because the doctor doesn’t have the full history. That’s the gap I’m trying to solve with this project. If we can manage our finances in apps, why not our health?

Right now, health records are a mess. Some hospitals are going digital, but even then reports are sent over WhatsApp or email. Later, when you actually need them, you’re scrolling endlessly through chats trying to find a “Blood Report – 16th June.pdf” (and of course, you never find it). Others still hand you bulky files, and if you visit multiple specialists, you end up carrying a mini-library of medical papers.

Governments have tried digital health ID systems, but hardly anyone uses them. They’re either too complicated, not user-friendly, or not trusted. What’s missing is a simple, clear, and personal way to keep all your health documents in one place, accessible whenever you or your doctor need them.

About the project:

Vaultem (meaning vault them) is basically a digital health document manager. It stores everything like test results, X-rays, prescriptions, hospital visit reports in one organized timeline. Each visit is linked to the hospital/doctor, with categories like dentist, eye, blood tests, heart, etc. Old papers can simply be scanned and uploaded. New reports can be directly added by doctors or labs.

For example: -if you visit a cardiologist, you’ll have the report saved under “Heart” with the date and doctor’s name. Next time you go to another specialist, you don’t have to dig through WhatsApp or shuffle papers, just open the app, and everything’s there in order.

Who Benefits-

Patients: No more lost reports, no more repeated tests, no more confusion about what happened when. One place to manage reports without mixing them up.
Doctors: Saves time, they can instantly see the patient’s medical history and avoid redoing the basics.
Community: Less medical waste, less duplication, and better informed treatments overall.

I’ve personally experienced how frustrating it is : once I went to a new dentist and I discovered that I had to carry a bag of documents from different dental hospitals because i took a treatment when i was 15 and they needed to check whether that could potentially affect the current ortho treatment iam going to take and it was so messed up, it took a while to arrange all of them in order of the date as they were from different clinics. It took the dentist some time to understand the history. Also the OPG X-ray (which is important to check the condition of the bone) that I had done 1 year earlier went missing. The doctor asked me to redo it (He referred me to another place for that) which wasted time, money, and honestly felt unnecessary.

Technical Touch

Scanning & Categorization: Old papers and reports can be digitized using the phone camera and tagged automatically (like “X-ray,” “Prescription”).
Timeline : Every visit is shown in order, making it super easy to track progress.
Doctor Uploads: Hospitals can upload official reports directly into the app with doctor verification.
Secure Storage: Encrypted, user-controlled access, way safer than random WhatsApp files.

Health is too important to be left to messy files and endless WhatsApp forwards. This app is not about reinventing healthcare, but about making life easier for both patients and doctors. It takes something people already do in a scattered, confusing way and makes it simple, digital, and reliable. In short: no more lost reports, no more repeat tests, and no more chaos, just clarity.

One of the most prevalent problems of homes in the current busy world is getting service providers like electricians, plumbers, and cleaners at short notice. Although present players  have already simplified this, there are still delays in booking, exorbitant charges, and insufficient availability in smaller cities. My vision is to develop an app that addresses these voids through a quicker, more streamlined, and more convenient solution for home services.

The main problem lies in the time-sensitivity of household issues. A leaking pipe, an electrical short circuit, or a broken appliance often requires urgent attention, yet current solutions sometimes take hours or even days to confirm a booking. My app addresses this gap by functioning like “Uber for house services,” where verified service providers are instantly matched with nearby customers in real time. This allows for handling of important tasks within minutes instead of hours.

Both customers and service providers benefit from this concept. Customers receive prompt, transparent, and reliable services at reasonable rates, while the workers receive stable employment opportunities, enhanced digital exposure, and prompt payments.In addition, society overall benefits from greater trustworthiness and accountability since the app will have background checks, ratings, and customer reviews for every worker.

This is a matter of concern to me as I have witnessed myself how difficult it is for families, especially in semi-urban areas, to find dependable plumbers or electricians at times of emergency.

 Many skilled workers also struggle to get consistent jobs despite their talent. By linking both sides with technology, this application empowers workers while providing homes with peace of mind. 

Technologically, the app will utilize AI-based matching algorithms to instantly match customers with the closest available worker, coupled with GPS location tracking, secure digital payments, and upfront transparent prices. Unlike competitors, the focus will be on speed, safety, and expansion into smaller cities where big platforms are not active.

In conclusion, this idea is not just another service marketplace. It is a faster, community-oriented, and scalable solution to a real problem faced daily by millions. By addressing the gaps in existing platforms, the app has the potential to transform how households and workers connect.

One of the most pressing challenges in epilepsy today is the lack of predictive diagnosis. Patients live under constant uncertainty, as seizures strike without warning. My idea is NeuroBand: a lifestyle-looking hairband that integrates hidden EEG electrodes and a compact AI chip.

The band continuously records brain activity and runs a machine learning model trained on epilepsy datasets. Its goal is to predict seizures at least two minutes in advance—a breakthrough, since even such a short window can allow patients to take fast-acting medication or move to a safe place.

The concept is simple but transformative. From the outside, NeuroBand looks like a regular fashion accessory, not a medical device—making it comfortable and socially acceptable. Inside, it’s a continuous brain-monitoring and early-warning system. Notifications are sent directly to the patient’s phone, ensuring seamless usability.

The impact is huge:

• Patients gain freedom and confidence.

• Families and caregivers experience less anxiety.

• Doctors gain continuous EEG data for better treatment.

While challenges exist—ensuring data accuracy, building ergonomic design, and real-time processing—the potential of NeuroBand lies in giving people something they’ve never had before: predictive control over epilepsy.
