 Problem Statement

  • Patients and salon customers often spend hours waiting in physical queues.

  • This leads to wasted time, frustration, overcrowding, and even safety issues (especially in hospitals).

  • Current appointment systems are either manual (paper slips) or complicated apps that many small clinics/salons don’t use.

Idea / Solution

A simple token + SMS/WhatsApp alert system that:

  1. Assigns a digital token when a patient/customer registers.

  2. Sends an SMS/WhatsApp notification about estimated waiting time.

  3. Alerts them again when their turn is approaching.

  4. Allows remote check-in to reduce physical crowding.

Purpose & Justification

  • For Customers: Saves waiting time, reduces stress, improves experience.

  • For Businesses (Doctors/Salons): Less chaos at reception, higher efficiency, happier customers → better reputation.

  • For Society: Reduces overcrowding in public spaces (especially useful in hospitals post-COVID).

MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

  • Phase 1 (No App Needed):

    • Use Google Form/Sheet to log customers.

    • Send notifications via WhatsApp Business API / SMS gateway.

  • Phase 2:

    • Build a lightweight mobile/web app for token generation, queue tracking, and notifications.

    • Display “Now Serving Token X” on a simple TV screen or LED display in clinic/salon.

Expected Outcomes

  • Reduced waiting time (up to 60% less idle time).
