ExamBites: Meals for Milestones

College students are among the busiest group of people in the young adult demographic. Between classes, exams, extra-curriculars, and internships, health and nutrition tends to take a backseat. Proper meals are sacrificed for a cup of instant noodles and another round of revision. However, this is neither balanced nor sustainable and leads to a cycle of poor nutrition, brain fog, low energy, and diminished academic performance. ExamBites aims to provide students with nutritious meals so they can keep up their health as well as their grades. 

 

What We Do:

ExamBites provides students with nutritious supplementary meals 3 days a week. These meals will include nutrients that college cafeterias and instant food generally tends to lack. Some of these are omega-3s, antioxidants, complex carbs, and leafy greens. Surveys will be taken so we can understand our target group and what they really need. After a careful analysis of results, meal plans will be generated which will then be tested and approved by a group of nutritionists. 

 

How It Works:

Preferably, we will be able to operate from within the campus itself so we can be even more accessible to students. Customers will be required to pick up their meals on 3 days of the week (eg., Monday, Wednesday, Friday). There will be different plans available so we can cater to more students and their specific requirements. For example, students can choose to use our service all semester round or specifically during exam periods. 

 

How We Differ:

While there are many services that offer meal plans and pre-prepped meals, there are very few that are specifically targeted to college students specifically. Also, affordability is a main concern for young adults who can't afford to spend too much on "luxury services". With ExamBites, we aim to bring nutrition to our customers at reasonable and affordable prices. We will also continuously take feedback and adapt our services to increase customer satisfaction.

  • ONE MORE thing to keep in mind is although agreed that campus food might not be nutritious enough, we as students aren't educated on what makes a balanced diet. This could be another space where ExamBites adds value; by guiding students on what a balanced plate looks like. Just a thought but you could maybe add more value to it
  • This is a really good initiative and I've tried something similar in my campus too! One key point we need to consider is "why" so many students turn to instant noodles or food delivery. Its primarily convenience, as many students don't want to step out of their rooms because they don't have enough time or they are very focused studying. If you initiate this with an option of delivery service and maybe charge extra (lets say 10-15 rs) for delivery, it could make the service more attractive and accessible.

The fixed pickup days is nice and I love that you can choose whether to use it all semester or just during exams when things get hectic. The best part is that it’s actually made for students cause it’s convenient and many students just ignore food intake so for us to have a fixed meal plan will atleast help us to fix our bad food diet or intake.   • This idea deals with a huge issue which majority of college students face. Poor nutrition in adulthood stems from bad eating habits and lack of prioritization or knowledge of nutrition. The 3 days a week system makes this much more feasible financially and eases pressure on manual labor and such logistical tasks. College students might be more inclined to taking supplements rather than these meals, due to the cost and convenience, but it is a well known fact that nutritious meals are levels better, which could be emphasized through your marketing program. I believe you could also use this as an opportunity to educate young adults on healthy eating habits by mentioning a small note on the boxes regarding the nutrients contained within the meal and their benefits. Ibelieve this is an idea with great potential to do very good work.
  • That's a brilliant idea, nutrition is extremely neglected by many students, whether due to lack of time, resources, or just simply awareness. This plan could help bring them back on track, especially since its on campus, making it easier for students who often have a busy schedule. Although three meals a week makes it more accessible, it might not be sufficient to compensate the rest of their diet. Perhaps the addition of certain supplements can help make it more effective.
