The Problem:

Most of the people waste hours standing in queues at hospitals, banks, events, colleges, and government offices. Existing token systems often require users to wait on site, leading to inefficiency and frustration, and leads to feeling of wasted time.

The Gap in current solution:

Offline token systems like paper slips, display boards are outdated. Existing queue management apps are complicated to use, don’t work across different institutions and real-time updates are often inaccurate or missing and also discourage small clinics, colleges, or local offices. No single platform offers a simple, common solution that is accessible to everyone.

The Solution:

The proposed Smart Queue Buddy app would let user take a virtual token remotely. Shows real time queue updates like 5 people ahead estimated time 15 minutes, send smart notifications like you’re 3rd in line please return now, helps institutions manage multiple counters efficiently. It also offers messages for users without smartphones and Whatsapp/SMS notification to people with smartphones.

Who does it benefit?

It is helpful to all users standing in line for hours, saves time, reduces stress and frustration, save their valuable time for another important thing. It is also helpful for organisations because it improves efficiency, manage crowd, increase customer satisfaction and also leads to safer and calmer waiting areas.

Why it matters to me?

I have personally experienced and saw a lot of people with frustration and wasted time that comes with waiting in long queues for even simple services like check up at the hospital or visit to bank for creating a bank account. I realised that if waiting could be smarter, people could spend those hours more meaningfully. Smart Queue Buddy is my way of turning this into a simple solution that saves time for everyone.

Technical details:

Smart Queue Buddy uses a backend for data storage and API to connect backend with mobile apps and database to store user tokens queue status, estimate time. User interface for receiving notifications. Admin Dashboard to mange counters and monitor queues.

  • This idea is excellent, but since it relies on real time updates and notifications, maintaining accurate timing and smooth coordination between users and institutions might be challenging but still, if handled well, it could make the system truly reliable and efficient.
  • This is a great proposal that clearly identifies a significant pain point and a comprehensive, multi-channel solution.
To enhance the plan, focus on the technical challenge of wait time estimation accuracy, as this is the core value proposition for users. You'll also need a compelling incentive strategy to ensure rapid adoption by smaller clinics and offices. Specifically, how will you overcome institutional resistance to switching from their familiar systems? Finally, adding a brief note on the initial business or monetization model would strengthen the long-term viability of the common platform.
  • I think this idea is really practical and impactful because it solves a common everyday problem that almost everyone faces. It makes waiting more efficient and stress free while also helping organizations work smoothly. It’s a smart blend of technology and convenience that can truly make people’s lives easier.
  • I think this idea has great scope if implemented well. It can reduce stress, improve customer experience, and even make public places safer by avoiding overcrowding.
  • Your personal motivation behind the project makes it even more relatable. Since you experienced long queues yourself, it shows you understand the frustration and designed the app with empathy.
  • What I like most is that you considered small clinics and local offices too, not just big organizations. Many apps forget them, but your system seems simple and accessible for everyone.
  • This project shows real potential in solving a common daily problem. The fact that it can be used across hospitals, banks, and colleges makes it versatile. Great thought on including multiple counters and admin dashboard features.
  • This is a very practical idea! Standing in queues is something everyone faces, and your solution directly saves people’s time. The real-time updates and notifications make it easy and stress-free for both users and organizations.
  • I like how your app not only helps users but also benefits institutions by managing crowds better. The addition of SMS/WhatsApp notifications is smart because it includes people who may not have smartphones.
  • I really like this concept because it addresses a problem people face almost every day. The idea of reducing waiting time through real-time tracking and notifications is very practical. A good addition would be explaining how user data will be kept secure. This way, the solution becomes both convenient and trustworthy.
