PyroPack – Decentralized Plastic-to-Fuel Units for Industrial Use

Every year, over 300 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide, yet shockingly, only about 9% of this plastic is recycled. The vast majority ends up in landfills, oceans, or incinerated, causing significant environmental harm. At the same time, many industries, particularly in developing countries, struggle with limited access to affordable and clean fuel sources. They often rely on expensive diesel or heavy oils that are not only costly but also harmful to the environment.

Current solutions to plastic waste management and fuel sourcing are inadequate. Plastic recycling tends to be highly centralized and expensive, often requiring advanced sorting and cleaning processes. Additionally, many pyrolysis plants, which can convert plastic waste into fuel, are either too large to be feasible on a smaller scale or demand substantial upfront capital investment. As a result, industrial players frequently overpay for traditional fuels such as diesel and heavy oil, which impacts their operational costs and environmental footprint.

PyroPack offers an innovative and practical solution to these challenges. The company designs and builds modular, portable pyrolysis units — essentially plastic-to-fuel containers — that convert mixed plastic waste into usable synthetic diesel or heating oil. These units are specifically designed for deployment in industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, and off-grid mining or logistics operations. Each container has the capacity to process between 500 to 1,000 kilograms of plastic waste per day and can generate approximately 300 to 500 liters of clean fuel. These units are flexible in terms of ownership, available for lease or outright sale depending on the needs of the client.
