Problem

Every year, thousands of Indian students go abroad and struggle with:

1. Finding safe rooms & connections.

2. Managing survival tasks (food, SIM, groceries).

3. Cultural & language barriers.

 Proposed Solution:

MasalaMix – A mobile app that acts as a survival kit , cultural guide , community hub for Indian students abroad , food recipes , shopping guide , introvert people conversation , language translation with mother tongue for easy access.

 Key Features:

1. Stay & Social - Verified rooms, PGs, roommate finder, connect with Indians nearby.

2. Indian Events Hub - Updates on Diwali/Holi abroad, easy ticket booking, meetups.

3. Food & Groceries - Simple recipes, grocery translator (e.g., Kartoffel - Aloo), nearby stores list.

4. Shops & Essentials - Veg/Non-veg restaurant filters, shopping centres, SIM & transport guides.

5. Language & Culture Bridge - Translations , cultural tips for easier adjustment.

Existing Apps vs MasalaMix:

What They Cover:

Abroad Saathi - Community connections.

TC Global - University/student advice.

IndiansAbroad - Forums for Indians abroad.

Grosh - Multi-language grocery lists.

Homeis - Immigrant networking.

What They Miss:

Grocery translation with photos + Indian names.

Beginner Indian recipes.

Indian shops/restaurants finder.

Festival/event passes.

Roommate + SIM/shopping help.

Each app solves only one piece of the problem - not the whole student experience.

They also miss the language translation people mostly suffer with it.

How MasalaMix Fills the Gap:

* Combines survival, food, culture, language translation and community in one app.

* Student-first, Indian-focused, all-in-one solution.

Impact:

Saves students time, money, and effort.

Builds a supportive Indian community abroad.

Makes survival less stressful and more connected.
