LocalHarvest Connect

Idea: "LocalHarvest Connect" - A peer-to-peer platform for connecting local food producers with local consumers.
Problem Hypothesis:
• For Producers: Small-scale farmers, backyard gardeners, and home bakers struggle to reach a wider customer base and sell their surplus produce/products. They lose a lot of food that goes un-purchased and don't have the marketing or distribution resources to compete with large supermarkets.
• For Consumers: People are increasingly interested in fresh, locally-sourced food but find it inconvenient or difficult to find and buy directly from producers. They are tired of the anonymous supply chain of supermarkets and want to support their community.
MVP (Minimum Viable Product):
Instead of building a full-blown app with a complex payment system and delivery logistics, the MVP would be a simple and low-tech solution to test the core assumptions.
1. A Simple Landing Page/Website: The MVP would be a single-page website with a form. The form would have two main sections:
• "I have produce to sell" - Producers can fill out their name, location, what they have (e.g., "tomatoes," "homemade bread," "fresh eggs"), and how to contact them.
• "I want to find local produce" - Consumers can enter their zip code to be put on an email list.
2. Manual "Concierge" Service: This is the most crucial part of the Lean approach. When a producer submits a form, you (the founder) manually email a list of people who have signed up from that same zip code, letting them know what's available and who to contact. You are the "platform" in the beginning, performing the core function of connecting buyers and sellers manually.
