REAL WORL PROBLEM
India boasts one of the world's most richest cultural heritage expressed in its folk arts, music, dance, and crafts. Modernization and globalization have, however, contributed to a reduction in traditional forms of art like Warli painting, Madhubani, Baul singing, and Kathakali. Rural artists enjoy little visibility, are exploited by middlemen, and lack access to sustainable livelihood. If left unchecked, much of these distinctive traditions will disappear, resulting in cultural erosion.
Drawbacks
While there are government plans and cultural events, they are restricted to some areas and do not reach an international audience. Existing platforms for artists are either commercialized too much or lack authenticity. There is no single, technology-based platform that offers global exposure, equitable pay, and cultural protection together.
Benefits
Artists and craftsmen: Get immediate access to markets, equitable payments, and visibility.
Students and youth: Learn genuine art, dance, and music directly from traditional masters.
Communities and society: Reconnect with cultural heritage and preserve it for future generations.
Global audiences: Experience Indian culture from anywhere in the world.
Why This Problem Matters to Me
Culture is not entertainment—it is identity. Being a young Indian, I take it upon myself to make sure the ancient art forms of our heritage do not get washed away in the tide of modernization. Reviving folk arts helps us keep alive stories, values, and traditions that establish what we are as a nation.
