Idea: AisleFind Go – Your Store Navigation Helper

The Problem: Everyone knows the frustration of wandering around a big grocery store looking for what you need. It wastes time, causes stress, and is especially hard for seniors or anyone in a hurry.

What’s Missing?:
Store apps are hard to use and need downloading. Paper maps are outdated. Nobody has made a simple tool right inside the store that helps you find things instantly—no phone required.

The Solution: AisleFind Go
It’s a friendly kiosk at the store entrance. Just type or speak what you’re looking for (like “oats” or “ketchup”), and it tells you the exact aisle and shelf. You can even scan your whole shopping list to get a step-by-step route. Store staff can easily keep the product locations up to date.

Who It Helps:

  • Shoppers: Save time and avoid stress.

  • Stores: Happier customers and fewer lost sales.

  • Seniors and people who find walking difficult: Shop with more confidence and independence.

What does it consist of:

  • Hardware: Touchscreen, computer, microphone, barcode scanner, secure enclosure.

  • Software: Simple search app, voice recognition, database, admin portal for store managers.

Why It Matters:
I’ve seen how hard shopping can be for my grandparents and how stressful it is when you’re short on time. Everyone deserves a simpler, kinder shopping experience.

  • AisleFind Go is a smart and user-friendly innovation that makes shopping faster and more convenient, especially for seniors. Its intuitive kiosk with voice and text search helps customers find products easily, improving both user experience and store efficiency. With additions like multilingual support and real-time stock updates, it could become an even more impactful retail solution.
  • The idea is strong, and should also prioritize making it more accessible and user-friendly for the elderly. By considering their specific needs, such as simplicity, readability, and ease of use, one can ensure that it benefits everyone effectively.
  • “The idea is very practical and solves a real pain point for shoppers who struggle to locate products quickly. You could strengthen it further by highlighting how the app would stay updated with changing store layouts or stock availability. Also, adding a feature like personalized shopping lists that map out the most efficient route in the store could make it even more useful.”
  • The idea is good
Also focus on how can we make it elderly friendly
  • Great concept! But kiosks might create queues during peak hours. Have you considered a hybrid model like QR codes on carts linking to the same system so people can access it without waiting?
  • The idea is practical, but keeping the product database updated in real-time could be challenging. Maybe explore an automated sync with the store’s inventory system to reduce staff workload.
  • While a kiosk is user-friendly, accessibility for people with vision impairments might need more thought. Adding audio guidance or a larger font option could make it more inclusive.
  • The idea looks perfect!
My suggestion is to work how this will be more efficient for the elderly as it will have advanced technology?
  • Such a great idea. Totally saves time for someone like me who's lazy and don't want to roam the entire store to find things. Do think about how you can make it more user friendly and useful by adding some more out of the box interesting ideas.
  • This is such a great idea. I can totally see how it would save time and make shopping way less stressful. My grandparents would love something like this!
