Renew it rather than throwing it away. Even though millions of outdated petrol and diesel vehicles are not environmentally friendly, most households cannot afford to purchase a new EV or hybrid. However, sustainability and financial losses are the issues companies have to deal with due to the disposal of such assets. The solution is in transformation, not substitution.

Our Concept:

Retrofit old vehicles (cars, bikes…) by converting their existing motors to electric or hybrid systems. Then, add today’s features such as infotainment and connection, safety, and comfort. Once refurbished, the cars are sold at significant discounts — sometimes 60–70% less than a new EV or hybrid.

Why it works:

Car owners have affordable access to a new green car;

For communities: cleaner air, quieter streets, and lower carbon emissions.

For garages & service centers: Opportunities from upgrades and servicing (new revenue streams, skilled job creation);

Why It Matters:

As a car enthusiast, I also believe that innovation should be accessible to everyone—not just the few. The upgraded cars can then be mass-produced by the established automakers, obtain safety certifications and sell through dealerships. Thus, affordability, reliability, and scalability are guaranteed.

The project also seeks to give old cars a bold second chance at life, lower the cost of green technology, and close the gap between yesterday’s machines and tomorrow’s clean mobility. We can create an equitable and sustainable future for all through our joint efforts.

  • A strong case for transformation over substitution. Retrofitting could very well be the missing link in the EV revolution.
  • Retrofitting can reduce both carbon emissions and financial stress for families, a rare combination of benefits.
  • Old cars carry memories and value. This model allows people to preserve them while upgrading to clean technology.
  • This idea could help accelerate EV adoption in regions where new cars are financially out of reach.
  • Retrofitting feels like a practical pathway to bridge the gap between traditional vehicles and the EV future.
  • Agreed, transforming old vehicles instead of scrapping them is smarter. It’s more affordable for households, reduces waste, and helps companies balance sustainability with financial losses.
  • This is such a powerful approach—transforming old vehicles into affordable EVs not only makes green mobility accessible but also reduces waste and creates new opportunities for garages and communities.
  • This idea is great as it makes EVs more affordable by upgrading old vehicles. It can help reduce pollution and promote sustainable transport.
  • Really interesting idea! Retrofitting old vehicles into EVs and hybrids not only makes green mobility more affordable but also reduces waste and creates new opportunities for garages and service centers
  • This is a smart, practical approach to green mobility—making EVs affordable by transforming old vehicles instead of discarding them. It not only reduces waste and emissions but also creates jobs and new revenue for garages. A bold way to give yesterday’s cars a sustainable second life.
