People are often unaware if election-related promises are fulfilled. Politicians aren't reviewed like products or services; sometimes a Zomato restaurant feels more accountable than a minister. People lose interest and question whether their votes actually have an impact when there is a lack of transparency.

There aren’t any platforms where citizens can track their leaders, rate their promises or verify their promised delivery. Information is always scattered, biased, or buried, which makes governance unclear making it lack transparency.

Electra is a platform that allows citizens to view, rate, and track promises in real-time, making accountability into a reliable system. It is similar to Yelp or IMDb, but for politics.

This platform includes the following features:

  • Leader Profiles: Each politician will have an active profile that displays their accomplishments, pledges, and public opinion.
  • Issue-Based Reviews: allows the users to rank the quality of services in important areas such as infrastructure, safety, healthcare, and employment.
  • Fact-Check Layer: AI recognizes promises from misleading information by comparing statements to official data.
  • Election Mode: Voters are provided with clear insight into who truly succeeds by viewing live ratings, performance scores, and past performances prior to casting their ballots.
  • Performance Feedback: Leaders receive honest, open feedbacks; underperforming leaders experience a decline in their scores, which may affect their eligibility in the future.

This platform benefits:

  • Voters: All voters can hold politicians accountable and make educated decisions by gaining clear, up-to-date facts about their leaders performances. Because citizens can monitor the real implementation of those promises and every vote gains significance.
  • Honest leaders: They Gain reputation as well as global trust by keeping their word. Since everyone can see their results and transparency, more leaders tend to get inspired to act responsibly.
  • Civil society: Benefits from more transparency and citizen involvement, which lowers corruption and creates an environment where government is transparent, accountable as well as trackable.

As a student, I feel that leaders take pleasure of their fame and authority without taking responsibility. Why can't the public review politicians like they can review movies and apps? Electra gives people a voice beyond election day.

AI + crowdsourced reviews + blockchain ensures ratings can’t be faked or manipulated.

  • I wanted to know how Electra would work for older adults and others who don't have smartphones or aren't comfortable using the internet. To help everyone participate and stay informed, offline options like community centers, public stations, or even SMS-based updates might be available. In this manner, the platform can truly reach all citizens, not just those who use the internet.
    • I appreciate you bringing up this crucial issue. Our goal is to make sure that everyone, including senior citizens and those without smartphones or internet access, can use Electra. Community centers and public kiosks to access leader profiles, SMS or phone-based updates to monitor pledges, printed reports and newsletters for those who prefer to read them offline, and trained volunteers to assist non-technical citizens in submitting feedback are just a few examples of the useful offline solutions we will attempt to put into place. All citizens will be able to stay informed, actively participate, and hold leaders accountable due to Electra's aims to make political accountability inclusive.
  • What an interesting idea! Similar to evaluating apps or movies, I really like how Electra allows people to monitor whether politicians fulfill their promises. To make it easier for everyone to use, I believe it would be even better if there were basic instructions or alerts for those who are not tech-savvy. If done correctly, this could hold leaders accountable and truly make voting more meaningful.
    • Thank you. You make a really good point there. I strongly believe that everyone, not just tech-savvy users, should have access to Electra. To make it easy for anyone to keep track of promises and provide feedback, i intend to include straightforward tutorials, detailed instructions, and mobile notifications. The intention is to make political accountability accessible to all, regardless of their knowledge of technology.
  • I really liked Electra because it makes accountability so clear and easy to follow. Because they combine pledges, ratings, and accomplishments in one location, the leader profiles are particularly helpful. To be honest, it feels like IMDb for politics, which makes governance much easier to understand. For voters like me, that kind of clarity is extremely valuable and rare in politics.
  • Politics needs something like Electra. At last, citizens have access to practical tools rather than merely symbolic ones. Leaders who fulfill their commitments will succeed, while those who fail will suffer more than just criticism.
I was thrilled to be involved in democracy for the first time when I cast my ballot. However, I was startled to discover that my name had already been "used" when I arrived at the polling station. I was not allowed to vote that day because someone had cast a fake ballot using my name. It was annoying and caused me to wonder if my voice really did matter. Because it gives people like me a way to have their voices heard outside of the voting booth and makes sure that accountability isn't compromised like my first vote did, that's why I think Electra is so valuable.
  • Politics is in a state of accountability, so this concept is beneficial.
However, I'm curious about how Electra will stop negative reviews from influencing ratings.
Score manipulation by some groups could become propaganda.
Just as crucial as the features themselves will be a strong moderation system.
    • To maintain fair and trustworthy ratings, Electra will employ multiple layers of protection. The system guarantees that the scores cannot be altered, and user verification makes it more difficult for organizations to spam false reviews. Furthermore, AI moderation will promptly identify questionable patterns. Together with community reporting and clear guidelines, these actions support maintaining the platform's accuracy, transparency, and reliability.

This is a powerful and timely idea that tackles a major transparency gap in politics. Electra makes accountability tangible by letting citizens track, rate, and verify promises. Features like AI fact-checking, performance scores, and crowdsourced reviews ensure fairness. With strong execution, it could transform civic engagement and governance.
  • Electra is a powerful concept by combining accountability, transparency, and citizen voice, it redefines how democracy can be made more participatory and trustworthy.
