The Problem Women’s safety continues to be a major concern, especially when traveling alone at night or in unfamiliar areas. Many women experience fear or hesitation when walking alone, using public transport, or moving through isolated spaces. In emergency situations, delays in getting help can lead to serious consequences. This problem highlights the urgent need for a reliable, fast, and easy-to-use safety solution.
My Solution To address this issue, I propose creating a Women’s Safety App with a one-tap SOS button, live location sharing, and instant alerts to trusted contacts. The app can also integrate with police helplines and include features like a fake call option or safe route suggestions.
Who Benefits The primary beneficiaries will be women—students, working professionals, and travelers—who often find themselves in vulnerable situations. Families of women will also benefit, as they will feel more assured knowing their loved ones can quickly send alerts in case of emergencies. On a larger scale, communities and cities benefit by fostering a safer environment, reducing fear, and encouraging women to participate more freely in education, work, and social activities.
Why This Problem Matters to Me This issue matters to me because women’s safety is not just about protection—it is about freedom, confidence, and equality. Every woman should have the right to feel safe while pursuing her education, career, or daily activities. Seeing how safety concerns limit women’s opportunities and independence makes me want to contribute a meaningful solution. By working on this idea, I hope to empower women and create a safer, more supportive environment for all.
